The Tree Officer,
Krishna Nagar Area,

Subject: Permission for the removal of two dangerous tree - dangerous for our life & property.
Dear Sir,
Almost 5 years ago, I had given a request letter to the EDMC Mayor Mrs Neema Bhagat, as well as, our Area Councillor, Mr Sandeep Kapoor, who was also the Chairman of the Law Committee & Later, Chairman of the Standing Committee, EDMC.
I had very clearly mentioned that tree in our house have become very big and very dangerous as they are struck by Termites, and it may fell at any time, risking our house and the precious lives of myself, my wife and my 2 daughters. We had requested in the letter for the removal of the tree with immediate pruning.
The letter was received by the office of the EDMC mayor with due acknowledgement number, as well as by our area councillor. Inspite of various reminders over phone, nothing happened, no one came forward to our rescue, and in the night of 6th August, Saturday, a shaft of the tree fell down on our house, due to Termites. By the grace of God, no damaged occurred anywhere, as that branch was very low lying, and not that much bigger.
But it has hiked our anxiety, and blood pressure level, and our mental peace has vanished, fearing our life. The Trees have badly damaged the foundation of our house and big cracks are visible at various wall points, due to high weight and pressure gained in the last many years.
Today, I feel bad as both the Trees were planted by me, in my house, almost 30 to 35 years ago on the call of various Government agencies, to Go Green, plant a tree, save the earth. I tried to save the Earth, i tried to Go Green with a proud feeling, but after 30 - 35 years, i am at a severe risk. Isn't it strange, that various agencies ask as to plant a tree but there is no simple provision to go for its pruning or removal, if it goes dangerous due to its size and over weight. The Mayor as well as Councillors don't come to help, even in the visibly genuine case, due to the stricter norms.
Today i feel stupid, as i had planted those trees against the warning of my parents, who had told me that i will have to face the consequences at a later stage. But my Patriotism had forced me to disobey my parents. Though, I am the only one who contributed Oxygen to my locality in the last 30 to 35 years, solely at the cost of my patriotism, today, i am worried as my patriotism has endangered the life of my loved ones.
May i request you to please order the removal of both the trees immediately. I will be more than pleased to plant more and more trees, at various locations, as my spirit of Patriotism is still existing.
Thanks & with best regards,
B S VOHRA
