ROYAL FABLES HOSTED A COUTURE SHOW BY MEHRAAB AT THE INAUGURAL NIGHT OF ROYAL FABLES, BARODA EDITION
In a historic first the Gaekwad Royal Family of Baroda invited Royal Fables to co-host a fashion show in the historic durbar hall of the splendorous Lakshmi Vilas Palace by Mehraab, a Delhi based label. Known for their mastery over rare embroideries like the petit point, convent, gara and Kashmiri aari work and their skilled silhouettes for both men and women, Mehraab took everyone’s breath away with their royal sherwanis for men and ornate lehengas and saris for women. Subtle touches like the caplets, gilets, the ombre dyed chiffons and the band-galas with Jodhpurs added to the royal touch.
Mehraab a couture brand helmed by Arun Ahuja, Arti Talwar, John Marya, and Anu Seth, featured stunning collections that centered around the rich tapestry and embroidery legacy of Gujarat.
Interestingly, some of the royals attending also decided to wear Mehraab outfits for the grand affair. As did the trio who rendered the live music: Composer Anhad Khanna, vocalist Kamakshi Khanna, and flutist Vibhor Mathur.
Mehraab as a luxury fashion label endeavors to translate traditional Indian craft into the effortless beauty that is visible in the celebratory amalgamation of the classic with the designers’ signature contemporary touch. It renews the vintage charm of the bygone era through a design story of perfection.
Meticulously crafted, the luxury label offers elaborately detailed long jackets, well-tailored and embroidered kurta-separates, kurta-salwar, bandh gala, kurta-bandis, bandis, layered kurta and much more, skillfully highlighting the intricate Indian motifs.
For women the label revived the Maharani’s dressing style recreating the blend of richly embroidered chiffon saris worn with capes, blouses and kopi blouses. Women’s wear got their richness from the embroidery and the generous use of rich embellishments and stones.
The finale featured royals like Nawab Kazim Ali Khan of Rampur, Kunwar Yaduveer Singh of the royal family of Bera and Digvijay Singh of BBG royals along with Mr. India International Darasing Khurana.
