Still missing a perfect selfie as I don't have the #Mobiistar to Enjoy More

Though I tried my hands on various smartphones/mobiles, for so many clicks, I am still missing a perfect selfie shot that can be called the perfect masterpiece as I don't have the #Mobiistar - a selfie camera for a great selfie experience, that can click a perfect selfie in the 120-degree wide angle with the perfect picturesque background, to enjoy more.

Some of the clicks that I liked most included the ones with my wife on a Jet Airways Flight that always reminds me of the Valentine day.

Other Clicks included a click while trying my hands on the Tata Tigor, on its launch, while my hand with my mobile is visible in the background, in the reflection.

Yet another click while I was Live on a TV Debate on the IBN7 - News India 18 TV channel, along with the Spokespersons of BJP & Congress party.

Yet another click with Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, the BJP Spokesperson, who has been followed on Twitter by the Prime Minister Narender Modi, while he has followed me on Twitter. The selfie is not good as the light was not OK, my eyes were closed, but I still include it in my loved one clicks.

Yet another click with Baba Ramdev Ji is a Bad Click. He was on the stage and he just bent down for a Selfie click with me on the stage of Aajtak TV channel.

Yet another click with Asadudin Owaisi, he took my mobile in his hand and clicked the pic. Not at all a good one. But I like it.

There are many more clicks, some are good, some are not so good, but not yet a perfect masterstroke as I am still awaiting the perfect #Mobiistar in my hands.

Hopefully, the new Mobiistar being launched on the 23rd May 2018, will be a perfect mobile with the perfect front dual selfie camera, for the perfect masterstroke, and a great selfie experience as it can capture the pics with a  120° wide-angle shot to get the most of the picturesque beautiful background. The Smartphone Made for the Way We Communicate Today, the Galaxy S9 and S9+

Award-winning Galaxy S9+ tops all smartphone cameras with highest score from DxOMark

RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ – MARCH 16, 2018 – Samsung Electronics America, Inc. announced that the new, award-winning Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, which have been recognized by smartphone reviewers worldwide for their best-in-class display, design and camera, are now available for purchase at U.S. wireless network providers and retail stores. The phones come in three colors: Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and the new Lilac Purple. The Galaxy S9 has a suggested retail price of $719.99, while the Galaxy S9+ is available for $839.99. Both unlocked and carrier versions of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are also available for purchase on Samsung.com.
“The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are designed for the visual and social generation—the consumers who connect, communicate, and share their stories through pictures and video,” said Tim Baxter, President and Chief Executive Officer at Samsung Electronics North America. “Samsung leveraged its long history of innovation to reimagine the smartphone camera so that users can not only take the best pictures in any light and any environment, but also express themselves in their own unique way.”

Camera Reimagined

Built for the ways we increasingly communicate and express ourselves with images, videos and emojis, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ feature Samsung’s most advanced smartphone camera, and come with a Dual Aperture[1] (F1.5 – F2.4) that works just like the human eye to adjust to different lighting conditions. In addition, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ capture up to 12 versions of the same photo to create an optimal image with high contrast, and less noise and grain. In fact, DxOMark awarded the Galaxy S9+ its highest-ever score for a mobile camera.
In addition, the Galaxy S9 and S9+’s Super Slow-mo captures footage at 960 frames per second—so a video that lasts for 0.2 seconds can be slowed down to six seconds—making everyday moments, epic. And with automatic Motion Detection, it’s easy to capture even the quickest moments, as Super Slow-mo will start recording the instant there’s movement in the frame. With AR Emoji, users can turn a 2D selfie into a dynamic 3D avatar and choose from preloaded colorful characters or create one that looks just like them. The personalized AR Emojis are also automatically turned into 18 animated GIFs, which can be sent and shared via any app that supports the format.
With the Galaxy S9 and S9+ camera, consumers have a new way to engage with the world around them through Samsung’s intelligence platform, Bixby[2]. Built with deep learning technology, Bixby adds numerous smart functions to the camera, including instant translation of text from one language to another, ability to recognize food and overlay approximate calorie count, and information about nearby landmarks and places. With Bixby, users can even identify products they are looking at, and instantly purchase them from a growing list of retailers.

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus

Immersive Entertainment

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ feature an enhanced entertainment experience with powerful stereo speakers tuned by AKG and the brightest Super AMOLED Infinity Display on a Galaxy device. With premium sound and a stunning screen, it’s easier than ever for users to immerse themselves in their favorite content.

Connected Ecosystem

Both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ support the new SmartThings app. The app provides a single, unified destination for consumers to monitor and control their compatible connected Samsung and non-Samsung devices—so managing a connected lifestyle can be as easy as flipping a switch.

Galaxy Foundation

With the Galaxy S9 and S9+, essential consumer-favorite features come standard—like IP68 water and dust resistance, expandable memory, fast and wireless charging and a headphone jack[3]. In addition, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ support the fastest network speeds, including gigabit LTE up to 1.2 Gbps, giving users the best call quality and data speeds available on their network today.

Samsung Premium Care

With the purchase of a new Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9+ on Samsung.com, owners are eligible for a free month of Samsung Premium Care—the only support program that comes to you at your home, office or favorite coffee shop. The service also includes damage protection, an extended warranty and quick turnaround service or a replacement device.
In addition, Samsung recently announced an expansion of its in-person support for mobile devices with the addition of more than 300 Samsung Care authorized uBreakiFix service locations across the country. By early 2019, Samsung and uBreakiFix plan to add nearly 200 more Samsung Care authorized service locations in the U.S.

Vodafone Offers 2GB Data Per Day, Unlimited Local And STD Calls And More At Rs 348 To Counter Jio’s Rs 399 Plan

Vodafone Offers 2GB Data Per Day, Unlimited Local And STD Calls And More At Rs 348 To Counter Jio’s Rs 399 Plan. This Vodafone plan which was first launched in August this year comes as a major competition to Airtel's Rs 349 plan and Jio's 399 plan that offer exciting deals for its prepaid customers.

New Delhi, December 14: Telecom major Vodafone India has revised its Rs 348 pack for prepaid customers to counter rival Jio and Airtel’s disruptive offers. Under the new plan, users who got 1GB of data per day will now be able to get 2GB data per day. This means prepaid users are eligible to effectively get a total of 56GB of data along with voice calling facilities for 28 days at Rs 348. The plan, which was first launched in August this year comes as a major competition to Airtel’s Rs 349 plan and Jio’s 399 plan that offer exciting deals for its prepaid customers.
The entry of Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio in September 2016 waged a data war in the telecom sector, forcing rival telcos to slash their tariff rates to retain their customers. Since then, all the major telcos including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, and others have been revising their plans and rolling out new ones to benefit customers.  Under the newly upgraded Vodafone plan, the telco is providing unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls with a daily cap of 250 minutes. This means Vodafone users taking up this plan will be able to make voice calls not more than 25 minutes every day, after which a 1 paisa per second will be charged. It had to be noted that the users can use 1000 calling minutes in a week.
As per reports, users are also eligible for a 5 percent cash back on availing the 348 plan from the app and website. If we were to compare this plan with Airtel and Jio, the Rs 349 Airtel plan offers 2GB 4G data per day, 28-day validity, free calls, and 100 SMSes per day while the Jio’s Rs 309 plan offers 49GB data at 1GB per day and 49-day validity, along with free calls, 3,000 SMSes, roaming outgoing calls.

KDDI and Samsung Complete First Successful Demonstration of 5G on a Train Moving at 100km/hour

KDDI and Samsung Electronics have successfully completed the first 5G demonstration on a moving train traveling at over 100 km/hour (over 60 mph). This was achieved along a section of track where the distance between two stations was approximately 1.5km (nearly 1 mile). During the demonstration, the companies achieved a successful downlink and uplink handover as well as a peak speed of 1.7 Gbps.

The tests were carried out from October 17th through the 19th in the city of Saitama in Japan, near Tokyo. For the tests, Samsung’s 5G pre-commercial end-to-end solution was used, which is composed of a 5G router (CPE), radio access unit (5G Radio), virtualized RAN and virtualized core.

The demonstration leveraged capabilities are driven by 5G, such as high throughput, low latency and massive connections, which verified potential services and use cases that would be highly-beneficial to passengers and operators of high-speed trains. This could pave the way to vastly improved backhaul for onboard WiFi, superior passenger infotainment and increased security and analytics.

In addition to a successful downlink and uplink handover at more than 100km/hour (over 60 mph), 8K video was downloaded via the CPE installed onboard, and a 4K video, filmed on a camera mounted on the train, was able to be uploaded.

“In collaboration with Samsung, KDDI has opened up the possibility for new 5G vertical business models, such as a high-speed train. With 5G expected to bring railway services to a whole new dimension, the success of today’s demonstration in everyday locations such as a train and a train station is an important milestone indicating 5G commercialization is near,” said Yoshiaki Uchida, Senior Managing Executive Officer at KDDI. “To fulfill our aim to launch 5G by 2020, KDDI will continue exploring real-life scenario experiments for diverse 5G use and business cases together with Samsung.”

“The potentials that 5G holds is powerful enough to transform the landscape of our daily lives,” said Youngky Kim, President and Head of Networks Business at Samsung Electronics. “The success of today’s demonstration is a result of our joint research with KDDI, which we will continue to pursue as we explore next-generation networks and use cases This will include research on diverse spectrums and technologies, as well as new business models and applications.”

Since 2015, KDDI and Samsung Electronics have been closely collaborating to demonstrate 5G millimeter wave performance in various scenarios. This includes a multi-cell handover demonstration that took place in February, where the device was mounted on a car that traveled in the busy streets of Tokyo, and a high-speed mobility test with the device attached on a car racing at 200km/h in Yongin, Korea in September.

Ericsson predicts 1 billion 5G subscriptions in 2023

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) forecasts there will be 1 billion 5G subscriptions for enhanced mobile broadband by 2023. This prediction is among the key statistics presented in the November edition of the Ericsson Mobility Report released today.

Expected to be deployed first in dense urban areas, 5G will cover over 20 percent of the world’s population by the end of 2023. The first commercial networks based on 5G New Radio (NR) are expected to go live in 2019, with major deployments from 2020. Early 5G deployments are foreseen in several markets, including the US, South Korea, Japan, and China.
Global mobile data traffic to surpass 100 Exabytes per month in 2023
Mobile data traffic is expected to surge by eight times during the forecast period, reaching 110 Exabytes per month by 2023. This corresponds to 5.5 million years of HD video streaming.
All regions maintain mobile data traffic growth, with North America showing the highest average usage per smartphone, exceeding 7GB per month by the end of 2017.
Video consumption continues to fuel mobile broadband traffic growth. The driving force behind video’s uptrend is the young millennials – those in the 15 to 24 age bracket - who stream 2.5X more than those over 45 years of age.
Streaming video in higher resolutions and an emerging trend of increased streaming of immersive video formats, such as 360-degree video, will have an impact on data traffic consumption volumes. For example, a YouTube 360-degree video uses 4 to 5 times as much bandwidth as a normal YouTube video of the same perceived quality.
LTE deployments – momentum continues
By the end of this year, LTE will be the dominant mobile access technology. It is estimated to reach 5.5 billion subscriptions and cover more than 85 percent of the world’s population by the end of 2023.
Voice over LTE (VoLTE) has been launched in more than 125 networks in over 60 countries across all regions. VoLTE subscriptions are projected to reach 5.5 billion by the end of 2023, accounting for more than 80 percent of the combined LTE and 5G subscriptions.
Smartwatches are one of the latest devices to use VoLTE. Users are able to make voice calls directly on their smartwatch, without having a smartphone nearby (multi-SIM). Calls can also be transferred between a user’s smartphone and watch.
Niklas Heuveldop, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Technology and Emerging Business, Ericsson, says: “The latest report highlights trends in mobile subscription and data traffic growth, as well as the industry’s effort to tackle the increasing demands on mobile networks globally. In addition, the report examines the emergence of new use cases as network capabilities evolve – smartwatches, IoT alarms, and augmented reality-assisted maintenance and repair, to name a few. As we prepare for 5G, these trends will continue to set the agenda for the mobile industry going forward.”

Clips introduces Selfie Scenes for immersive, 360-degree selfies on iPhone X

Cupertino, California — Apple today announced a major update to Clips, the free app for iOS that makes it easy to create and share fun videos using iPhone or iPad. Clips introduce Selfie Scenes and adds artistic style transfer effects and a redesigned interface that makes it easier than ever to create great videos on the go.

Selfie Scenes is an exciting new feature that places users into animated, 360-degree scenes when recording selfies. Using the sophisticated TrueDepth camera system on iPhone X, Selfie Scenes transports users into bustling cities, serene landscapes, abstract paintings and even the Millennium Falcon and Mega-Destroyer from “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

“Clips users love how quick and easy it is to create amazing videos on iPhone or iPad,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Apps Product Marketing. “And we’re making it even more fun with Selfie Scenes. By harnessing the incredible new TrueDepth camera system on iPhone X, users can now record selfies against a variety of fun and whimsical backdrops with just a tap.”

With Selfie Scenes, users can choose from 10 Apple-designed scenes, featuring unique locations, characters, colors and visual styles plus two scenes from “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” Each scene is a full 360-degree experience, so it surrounds users on all sides as they move iPhone X. And environmental sound effects make scenes even more immersive.

New artistic effects use advanced machine learning and style transfer technology to turn any photo or video into a moody oil painting, vibrant watercolor or elegant pencil sketch — in real time while recording. Clips also adds more content from Disney, including full-screen posters featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, as well as Star Wars stickers featuring animated versions of Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and others. Users can also add more personality to their Clips videos with 16 new Apple-designed stickers and 21 new royalty-free soundtracks from indie artists. And, as with all Clips soundtracks, these new tracks automatically adjust to match the length of videos.

The easy-to-use interface gets even better with a streamlined design that puts frequently used controls easily within reach. A new Effects browser lets users view and choose filters, labels, stickers, and emoji. Labeled buttons make it easier than ever to edit Live Titles, add or change filters, trim, mute and delete clips. And full-screen browsers allow users to see more of their content when viewing their photo library or selecting animated posters.

Dock and Run: Samsung DeX Offers New Opportunities for Business and Entertainment

The ability to see something on a different scale often offers a new perspective. Launched with the Galaxy S8 and S8+ and now available with the Galaxy Note8, Samsung DeX* lets users use their smartphone like a desktop by providing a seamless, mobile to desktop transition. Now, users have the opportunity to enjoy the best of both worlds in an ever-expanding ecosystem of partnerships, opening up new possibilities for coding, entertainment, and productivity.

Out and about with Linux on Galaxy

At last, developers themselves are able to experience a truly mobile development environment.

Linux on Galaxy, an app demonstrated during SDC 2017 in San Francisco, is designed to free developers from their desks by providing a Linux OS environment for their Galaxy smartphone: anywhere, anytime, on-the-move. Smartphones with Linux on Galaxy are capable of having multiple operating systems running at the same time, so developers have the ability to work with their Linux-based distributions of choice on their mobile device, without restrictions. As well as using the Android OS, they can open the app to run any software they require in a Linux OS environment, giving developers the flexibility to choose.

What’s more, Linux on Galaxy is DeX-enabled, meaning that developers can seamlessly move from smartphone to desktop whenever they want to work on a larger screen with a keyboard and mouse.** Currently, in its trial stage, Linux on Galaxy is already causing a buzz amongst developers.

Even More Entertainment

Samsung DeX complements the conventional mobile experience. In the world of entertainment, Samsung DeX now offers support for even more mobile games and video streaming services, so users can watch the action come to life on a larger screen.

Samsung’s partnerships with major video game developers such as Super Evil Megacorp’s Vainglory, Game Insight’s Survival Arena, Eric Froemling’s BombSquad and Netmarble’s Lineage 2 Revolution present popular mobile games on the immersive desktop setting through the Samsung Game Launcher app, with a keyboard and mouse for easier gameplay. This allows players to move from mobile to desktop, and back again, without disrupting their gaming experience. In addition, new titles – including Lineage 2 Revolution and Nexon’s AxE – are beginning to support Vulkan API in increasing numbers. The upcoming “mobile title” Square Enix FINAL FANTASY XV POCKET EDITION has been optimized for both Vulkan and DeX, pushing the boundaries of mobile gaming.

With Twitch, users of the video streaming service are provided with a better multitasking experience and can resize the window and play video while running other apps via Samsung DeX.

Powering Productivity

The service doesn’t just enhance mobile entertainment– it also heightens user productivity. Samsung DeX transforms the docked Samsung smartphone into a desktop-like workstation, increasing output for professionals on-the-go.

Users can enjoy an improved email experience—with email clients such as Samsung Email, Samsung Focus, Nine Email and MS Outlook—via an optimized interface with a desktop-like, three-column layout, flexible split view and multi composer.

Likewise, Samsung DeX enables a better collaboration with video conferencing from even more services such as Zoom, BlueJeans, and GoToMeeting. Video conferencing has been made simpler with a seamless docking-undocking experience, support for screen and document sharing, and multitasking capabilities that allow the user to stay on the call while taking notes or sending an email.

With the Galaxy Note8, the new All Apps user interface offers users a full view of up to 36 of their mobile apps at once, which is an increase from the previous view of 25 apps. The enhanced UI makes app access and search more convenient, allowing users to identify and utilize apps faster.

As Samsung continues to expand its partner ecosystem with third-party developers and strives to broaden the use of Linux on its smartphone, the service’s ecosystem will continue to grow organically, offering a wider range of Samsung DeX-optimized apps, features and experiences for Galaxy users across business and entertainment.
