Jio Phone Bookings Now Open: Documents You Need, Delivery Date, and More You Need to Know

JioPhone bookings will officially open on August 24 (both offline and online), but certain offline retailers in the Delhi-NCR region have already started taking pre-orders for the handset. This means that you have the opportunity to make your JioPhone booking ahead of millions of people across the country, provided you have an offline retailer near you taking pre-orders right now. We spoke to one such retailer to find out the offline booking process, the documents you need to get your hands on the phone, and tentative delivery dates, and other important details. Notably, the Rs. 1,500 refundable deposit only needs to be paid at the time of picking up the handset, so, you don’t need to have that amount ready when pre-ordering. Read on to find out everything you need to know.

Jio Phone booking with Aadhaar number

To book JioPhone, you will need to submit a copy of your Aadhaar card with the authorised Jio retailer, whether it is a store around the corner or a Reliance Jio outlet. As an individual consumer, you can get only one unit per Aadhaar number across the country, so you will not be able to place orders on different stores in the hopes of getting multiple units. After you submit the Aadhaar number, your details will be uploaded into centralised software that will assign you a token number, which you need to cite while picking up the phone.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced at the July 21 event that the JioPhone will effectively be free, with an upfront, refundable security deposit of Rs. 1,500. Now, while making the JioPhone booking offline, you will not have to pay anything when you submit your Aadhaar number. The Rs. 1,500 payment will have to be made only when you pick up the unit assigned to you from the offline retail store. This sum can be reclaimed after 36 months of using the handset, according to Jio.

Reliance Jio, Vodafone, Airtel price war: All offer 84 GB data plan, unlimited local, STD calls

Reliance Jio, Vodafone, Airtel price war: All offer 84 GB data plan, unlimited local, STD calls

A year earlier, before Reliance Jio was launched, consumers were used to paying phone bills with large amounts for voice calls and data. Most users had an austere approach when it came to data consumption.

A year earlier, before Reliance Jio was launched, consumers were used to paying phone bills with large amounts for voice calls and data. Most users had an austere approach when it came to data consumption. Things have changed. About a month from now, Reliance Jio will mark its first anniversary. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani launched the new teleco in September last year, changing the Indian telecom sector in India forever.
For the consumer, this has essentially meant more data in less money. Reliance Jio, which started off with free data and free voice calls to draw users, has forced incumbent telecos Airtel and Vodafone to reduce data prices too. Jio has finally started charging customers, ending its free offers, but that has not ended the price war between the telecos. For the consumers, it's great news. There's plenty of data packages to choose from.
As Reliance Jio intends to increase its consumer base further, there will definitely be more offers to come. AS for now, Airtel and Vodafone are putting out counter offers to defend against Jio's onslaught. There are similar offers that Reliance Jio, Vodafone and Airtel are offering, including plans in which consumers end up getting 84 GB in total. Let's take a look:
Airtel: Reliance Jio has caused a massive dent in the telecom industry, but Airtel is fighting hard to retain its top position in the sector. Airtel has aggressively tried to match Jio's offers. Airtel's Rs 399 plan is no different. The Rs 399 plan offers free local and STD calls which matches Jio's free and voice calls feature. But more than voice calls, the fight is about data price. Airtel's Rs 399 plan, with a validity of 84 days, offers 1 GB data per day. This essentially amounts to 84 GB data in total.
Airtel has different offers depending on the circle, and special packages for select users. Earlier, Airtel was offering 70 days validity for new 4G handset users for Rs 399.

Vodafone: Much like Airtel, Vodafone's not been too behind in offering new packages in a bid to retain its customers who could drift to Reliance Jio owing to the cheap data plans. Vodafone's latest plan was targeted at students. Vodafone's Rs 445 plan with 84 days validity has 1 GB data limit per day. This amounts to 84 GBs in total. But, it has also tied up with cab service provider app Ola and food deliviery app Zomato to offer discounts.

The plan's cost also goes down in the second recharge when users have to pay Rs 352 instead of the first-time recharge value of Rs 445. Voice calls and SMS are free. There's smaller option too for Vodafone users with a First Recharge Coupon (FRC) plan at Rs 244. It offers 70 GB data with unlimited Vodafone to Vodafone local and STD calls.
Idea: In a few states Idea Cellular has a Rs 445 plan with 84 days validity for first time recharge users. Idea's Rs 445 plan includes unlimited local and STD calls with 1 GB 3G data limit per day. There's a cheaper plan available for Rs 297 plan with 1 GB daily data and unlimited local and STD calling within the Idea network. Idea users in Mumbai also have the option to subscribe to a Rs 395 plan for 4G smartpohone users with 84 days validity and 1GB daily data.

Website / Blog Ranking sites : Are they reliable any more ?

We all run after the ranking sites such as Alexa, Moz, Google Analytics & so on for a higher rank. Earlier these were the SEO techniques that were helping to raise the rankings. But now almost everyone has started charging a significant price. So my very simple question: Are they reliable anymore?

I am a businessman and in my opinion, if you pay, you will get higher ranks and if you don’t pay, you won’t get those rankings. There are many agencies in the market who are offering Twitter, FB and other Social media network followers against a price. Persons are there who offer YouTube views at an agreed cost.

Earlier Alexa was Free and highly reliable. But they made three categories and started charging a huge monthly figure.  The cost of a simple Alexa Rank of your site has now been DOUBLED at almost $20 per month, with many more limitations to be covered under various higher costs. Similarly, you have to pay $99 to $149 per month under two other categories, and the problem is that even for your Free Trial of 7 days, you have to furnish your Credit / Debit card details.

MOZ was also absolutely free, but now you have to choose MOZ PRO, and the four categories are available at $99 per month, $149 per month, $249 per month as well $599 per month. Again, you have to furnish your credit card details for a Free trial of 30 days.

Google Analytics is Free but the traffic it shows is nowhere near to the traffic & visits visible in your blogger dashboard. On the other hand, the Google Analytics premium is available at a monthly cost which is beyond the pocket of at least the Indian bloggers, i.e. $12,500 per month, $1,50,000 per annum.

Even for the basic Alexa & basic Moz you have to pay almost $120 a month, $1,440 for a year, which comes to approx Rs 1 lakh per annum. So bloggers, if you really want to earn out of your blog, you have to shell out as above, with a hope that it will have some impact on Google analytics.

My very simple question is still there. Are they reliable anymore? If not, then why all the Blogging Platforms rank their member bloggers on the basis of above criterion?
